Yolyn Am

We did a 5KM return hike into the canyon to see where the winter ice remains until summer. Unfortunately, it had all melted.

This is a pika, a member of the rabbit family.

Snow leopard

Except for the first half hour of the day and the last 15 minutes of the day, the entire journey was across the desert floor! Bumpery bump bump bump.

Our lunch stop for Mongolian dumplings in Bulgan, a tiny village in the middle of nowhere.

Flaming Cliffs

Moltsog Els (known as the ‘mini sand dune’, despite its 5km in length and 40m height)

The drive back to Dalanzadgad

Craving western food after 16 days of rice and noodles, I went for a massive chicken burger. Burgers here come with gloves!
